PRESTOLITE PERFORMANCE - MR. GASKET SPONSORS 2007 MS 150 BIKE TOUR
Cleveland, Ohio (September 2007) Prestolite Performance - Mr. Gasket Performance Group was proud to show its support of the 21st annual “Pedal To The Point” MS 150 Bike Tour held on August 18-19th as an event sponsor. This two day, 150-mile challenge was a fundraiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
With nearly 2000 riders, the Tour kicked off at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds and wound its way to Sandusky, Ohio on the first day of the event. Day Two of the Tour tested the dedication of the teams, who endured harsh conditions including rain and cold weather on the return ride. Although the event was canceled half way through the second day due to the poor weather, the riders showed their commitment to ending the devastating effects of MS right up to the end. 2007 has been a banner year for the Pedal to the Point teams, with over $900,000 raised so far – already $200,000 more than last year. The organization is well on the way to its goal of raising 1.25 million dollars by the end of the year.
“Prestolite Performance applauds community organizations who take on a challenge in order to make a difference,” stated Dennis Rogers, VP of Prestolite Performance - Mr. Gasket Performance Group. “We believe strongly in supporting grassroots programs, not only in motorsports through our racing and contingency sponsorships, but also through the support of important community events like the MS 150 Bike Tour. We were very proud to be part of this fundraising event.” Prestolite Performance is a Prestolite Wire Company, leading the aftermarket with a renowned family of automotive brands including ACCEL, Hays, Lakewood, Mallory and Mr. Gasket, as well as ACCEL Motorcycle and Mallory Marine divisions.
